Like many musicians throughout history, there is something in their DNA that causes them to inherit their unique gift. I am the son of a classical pianist, the brother of a drummer, and the brother of a guitarist (who is also a luthier). Despite the fact that I have always been surrounded by music, it was never put upon me to be a musician. At the late age of fifteen I began playing the electric bass and continued to be self taught on the instrument for the next sixteen years. After some time of feeling accomplished on the instrument, I needed a new pattern of growth. And at the even later age of twenty-six, knowing that in order to further myself and my musicianship, I needed to learn to read music, and went on to study the double bass classically.
I've played with such groups as Toast, Watersphere, In The Now, The Peyote Brothers, and Plan B. And for two consecutive seasons have been the bass player with Strollers Theatre group of Maplewood. In addition to being a bass player I am also a song writer. My compositions include commercial work for Brinley Gold Rum, some works for chamber groups, as well as being a co-writer for original music projects.
I have studied the double bass with Jason Depope, Paul Harris, principal bass of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and David Grossman of The New York Philharmonic. I have a Bachelors of Music with a concentration in music education from Mason Gross School of the Arts.
Currently, I am elementary strings teacher for Franklin Township Board of Education and an acting bass specialist for the district.
I am currently available for performance situations, studio work, and lessons.
